My college roommate & Korean explorer, Henry, visited us a few weekends ago. He's been living in Korea for the last 8 years and came back to the States for a little R&R. We waxed sophis-ta-punk, and took in a spirited Chicago Fire soccer game. Not quite the level of the British premiership, but it was good quality match with moments of sweetness. Incidentally, the team is named after the mighty Chicago Fire of 1871... which devastated nearly the entire city and gave rise to the new dawn of chicago (steel, skyscrapers, etc).

Chicago Fire plays on the south side at Toyota Park. Definitely not a jam packed stadium, but a random assortment of followers, like Jim Belushi (up on the jumbotron), lend their support. The MLS league is getting better each year and more&more kids are playing so i hope it'll stay alive in the States for a little bit.

Final score, chicago Fire: 1, Real Salt Lake:0. Way to go FIRE! The one red shirt (Fire dude) in the picture below scored the game-winner. CHICAGO FIRE!

The guy who scored the game-winning goal is Patrick Nyrako, formerly of Virginia Tech. Must be why the Fire are Kristin and I's favorite MLS team!
